Across the world today yoga and mindfulness education are increasingly being incorporated into the classroom to help address the concerns of anti-bullying, health and wellness and character education.
Little children will develop into bigger children and into adults and starting at a young age with practicing yoga and breathing - will help them to learn how to self regulate, be balance and self aware- all the basics that are necessary for a compassionate, respectful and loving individual of the world.
Yoga helps children to balance their body and mind. When a child does a balancing pose for eg. a tree pose it helps the child with proprioception which is the body's ability to sense its position and movement in space which is crucial for maintaining balance and coordinating movements.
Yoga support and maximize the learning process. Doing yoga improves concentration and creative thinking (improvement in executive functions) and this helps children to better able to prioritize and organize. Yoga also helps in improving your child's social skill and feelings of connectedness to others which is the basic of living in a community within the world.
It helps a child with social anxiety feel confident with a greater sense of self awareness and self worth.
